About the Event
Welcome to Green Destinations 2022 & Future of Tourism Summit hosted by the City of Athens, under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO)
After 2 years of online conferences, last year we celebrated our annual flagship event in person again.
Green Destinations 2022 conference took place from 26th to 29th September hosted by the City of Athens at the Radisson Blu Park Hotel. We had the opportunity to come together in a unique setting and discuss ways towards a responsible future of tourism. In collaboration with the Future of Tourism Coalition, we hosted the first Future of Tourism Summit on 29 September. This day focused on bringing destinations, communities and the tourism sector together for climate resilience and climate action.
Just like our previous ‘Global Green Destinations Days’, the event connected sustainability professionals, destinations, and tourism boards through good practices to support peer-to-peer learning and discover initiatives, practical tools, and solutions for sustainable tourism destinations.
We hold exciting panel discussions, hear inspiring stories of good practice, got creative in joint workshops and – as every year – celebrated our certified and awarded destinations and revealed the 2022 Top 100 Sustainability Stories.
