CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The Programme provides destinations with structured pathways to monitor performance against the Green Destinations Standard, strengthen their sustainability management, and achieve independent recognition.It offers two forms of recognition: the Green Destinations Awards and Green Destinations Certified.
Green Destinations Awards
The Green Destinations Awards recognise destinations at progressive levels. Each level is assessed against a defined subset of criteria selected from the Green Destinations Standard, not against the Standard as a whole. A destination receives an Award when the Certification Body verifies that it fully meets every criterion for its chosen level. This makes the Awards accessible to destinations at different stages of their sustainability journey, while keeping a clear and demanding standard at each level.
Green Destinations Certified
Green Destinations Certified is assessed against the full Green Destinations Standard, following independent assessment by an authorised Certification Body.

Green Destinations Training
Green Destinations Training provides a wide range of online and customisable training courses in destination management and sustainability performance for destinations and businesses.
SUPPORT & MARKET ACCESS
Good Travel Institute supports tourism companies and destinations in improving sustainability performance and promotion. It certifies companies and events, and it evaluates destinations and their travel offer on positive impact.
Good Travel Alliance
The Good Travel Alliance supports member destinations in developing an on-the-ground economic model for sustainable tourism by promoting and selling low-impact tourism experiences to travellers.
Good Travel Program
The Good Travel Seal is a recognition management program for all tourism and travel related businesses and facilities, designed to be feasible and affordable especially for SMEs.
The Good Travel Scan encourages medium and small family-run enterprises (SMEs) that have no previous knowledge or experience in sustainability management to take a first step in the right direction.
The Good Events Tool provides a practical framework to help events measure, improve and independently verify their sustainability performance.
Good Travel Support
The Good Travel Support program is a pioneering, sustainability-driven approach for partners, delivering a thorough assessment of their destination management or business before working alongside them to build and implement a sustainable tourism model.
Good Travel Guide
The Good Travel Guide is an online platform that promotes more responsible and sustainable tourism by showcasing destinations, experiences, and businesses that benefit local communities and protect the environment. Developed by the Good Travel Institute, it helps travelers discover and book meaningful travel experiences that minimize negative impacts while supporting local cultures and economies.
Good Travel Stories Competition
The Good Travel Stories Competition is an initiative which aims to translate technical sustainability into compelling, human-centric narratives. We believe that responsible destinations and service providers deserve more than just certification—they deserve the global visibility and market reach that matches the quality of their work and leads to action on the side of the traveller.
